The new release of the (E)JES workstation component includes the following enhancements.
JES2 and JES3:
Display commands: these are available on most tabular displays; some examples: card count, allocation, queue, volumes
System Name filter: filter by system name to include all systems, local systems or systems specified by name
Context-sensitive help: available for primary windows and some dialog boxes
JES2:
Spool Offload: primary window that displays device status and type, and active job name
A Superior Approach to JES Spool Management
We invite you to explore our workstation interface
into the (E)JES JES management utility. The (E)JES
workstation component fully exploits the (E)JES spool management solution and
harnesses the multitasking capabilities of today's z/OS servers and multitasking
workstations. This approach lets users execute
multiple simultaneous transactions from a single workstation.
Some key features of the (E)JES workstation
component:
The (E)JES workstation component is a Windows program that
provides icon, tabular, and browser views of data using standard
menus, dialogs, and windows, as well as a complete set of keyboard shortcuts.
This implementation provides workstation users a software
interface requiring very little new user training and no significant
learning curve.
You can access single or multiple z/OS servers (or sysplexes)
simultaneously, and can perform similar concurrent functions
or multiple functions on computers running JES2 and JES3 throughout
their entire enterprise.
(E)JES seamlessly integrates the functions of IBM's ISPF Client/Server
product to provide a complete workstation development environment.
All of the power of ISPF is available without the traditional
need for a TSO address space.
System integrity is assured via your existing (E)JES security
definitions.
The traditional TSO communications requirement is removed
by means of a proprietary design that provides users the opportunity
to enjoy true full-duplex, multiple-asynchronous communications
with the server.
(E)JES displays your columnar JES data
in tabular windows. Tabular windows support
scrolling, overtyping, custom sorting, filtering, and searching. Authorized
users
can access and modify JES resources displayed in these windows with the
click of a mouse or a few keystrokes.

Browser windows display line-oriented
information such as SYSIN or SYSOUT data sets, console messages, and
log information.
Some browser windows use the "Multiple Document Interface" (MDI)
paradigm to organize multiple related windows under a common frame. You can customize browser windows with respect to font, font color, column arrangement, filtering,
MDI positioning, and more.
